Forgotten Treasures: Lunar 2

A lot of what I've been witnessing in the industry lately is a lot of remakes, reboots, and rehashing of older and newer games. While it looks like a lot of companies are grasping for something good to bring back to gaming audiences, I feel like some titles are being forgotten.

A great classic RPG series is Lunar, a lot of people do know the title Lunar: The Silver Star, or also known as Silver Star Story (Complete), Lunar Legend, and Silver Star Harmony. Lunar has been remade so many times from it's Sega CD release in 1992 that a lot of different age groups have had a chance to play it. It even has an iOS release!
Many people hardly know of the actually Lunar series mainly because there is a limited access to the others. Lunar: Walking School/ Magic School Lunar! was a spinoff about the magic academy in the world of Lunar.
Lunar Genesis/ Lunar: Dragon Song is a smear in the Lunar series that we try to forget, it's just an awful game and doesn't need elaborating!

Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete is the game I really want to get to, is a real forgotten treasure in the series. While it came out around the same time as the first game and was remade for the Playstation and Sega Saturn consoles in the same way, no effort seems to be made to remake the title for current fans. This is quite sad because well, I consider this the best game in the series.
The story is set 1000 years after the events in Lunar, this time you play as Hiro who meets a woman from the Blue Star (Lucia), the events of the game revolve around their quest to save the world from the evil Zophar (oooOOOOOooohhhhh) and Lucia's emotional development.
Now my description of the plot sounds lame but the story is quite amazing and I ended up loving all the characters in my group, unlike the first game (I want to murder Nash I hate him so much). There are a lot of nods to the previous title AND some characters from Lunar show up!
The best part is all the annoying technical stuff from the first game have been fixed, yay shared inventory! yay theres running and text boxes durning non cut scene voice acting! As well as many other upgrades from the previous title. This is all pertaining to the Playstation versions because I sadly have not played the original versions.
There is just a lot to love about this game, the music is just amazing and makes me feel all nostalgic for classic fantasy, this seriously in my top 5 of favorite video games to play.

Now where I'd totally recommend getting your hands on a copy of this game for Playstation, there is the rare factor. It normally retails 200+ and there is no known possibility it will be on the playstation network in the PSN's lifetime. Which is sad because as I've said, this is an amazing game. I'm not quite sure why there hasn't been another remake of Lunar 2 since the Playstation version. I can only speculate, possibly the amount of nudity which is like old anime nudity, no nipples (hahaha)

In any case, if you can get your hands on a copy of the playstation version (I'm not saying ROMS but, I'm totally saying ROMS) then go for it! Any classic RPG fan should play this game!
